Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant/Finance Specialist to join our team as our Assistant Controller, with significant, demonstrated experience in financial compliance and operations for US Government contractors. This role requires a meticulous approach to handling complex financial tasks and ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory standards (including FAR/DFAR, GAAP, and other US Government Contracting standards).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts and accounting system (Month End Close).
  • Managing payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes accurately, on schedule, and ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Coordinating and ensuring Time Reports, Revenue Recognition, Cost Accounting, and Expense Reports in accordance with USG FAR guidelines (Cost Plus Fixed Fee, Time and Material, Firm Fixed Price).
  • Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Financial reports (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Incurred Expenses versus Budgeted Expenses).
  • Managing 401K contributions and related reporting.
  • Providing accurate accounting records to tax attorneys for S or C-Corporation filings.

Required Experience:

  • CPA accreditation (strongly preferred in Virginia).
  • Proven experience working for a US Government contractor.
  • Strong expertise in financial reconciliations, payroll processing, and expense report management.
  • Experience with 401K contributions and reporting.
  • Managing others (directly or indirectly)
