Job Location: Warrenton, VA – Hybrid Remote

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $90,000 – $130,000

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Network Engineer to support and maintain our network infrastructure. This role is ideal for a junior to mid-level engineer with a strong networking foundation, hands-on Cisco experience, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of professional networking experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a desire to grow technically.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support, configure, and troubleshoot network infrastructure
  • Administer, configure, and maintain Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switching platforms
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco ASA and Cisco Secure Firewall platforms
  • Diagnose and resolve network and server related incidents and service requests
  • Support TCP/IP-based networking, including routing, switching, VLANs, and subnetting
  • Assist with multicast routing configuration and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with systems and security teams on network related initiatives
  • Support VMware vCenter virtualized environment
  • Assist with Microsoft Active Directory user and group account creation, DNS, etc.
  • Create and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures
  • Assist with troubleshooting Linux based network related issues
  • Willingness to travel (Not required)

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with:

  • Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switching platforms
  • Cisco routers
  • Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) firewalls
  • Cisco Secure Firewall platforms
  • Cisco Firewall Management Center (FMC)

Strong understanding of:

  • TCP/IP, UDP, VLANs, routing, and switching fundamentals
  • Network troubleshooting methodologies
  • DNS, DHCP, and basic network services

Familiarity with:

  • Multicast routing concepts
  • VMware vCenter and virtual networking
  • Microsoft Server and Active Directory fundamentals
  • Linux distributions, including Red Hat and Ubuntu
  • 2–5 years of professional network engineering or network operations experience

HIGHLY DESIRED

  • Experience with network monitoring, alerting, and logging tools
  • Basic understanding of network security principles and best practices
  • Exposure to Ansible or infrastructure automation tools
  • Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash)

CERTIFICATIONS

Required:

  • CompTIA Security+

Preferred:

  • Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP or in progress)
  • CompTIA Network+
  • VMware, Linux, or Microsoft certifications (Not required)
